Developing solutions to solve real problems, save customers time and add value to the bottom line.
PWV Trolley Services, established in 1990, did the maintenance of mobile retail “roll-on-roll-off “(RORO) supply chain equipment. PWV did business with OK Bazaars, Woolworths, Pick n Pay (PnP) and Checkers. NI also, at that time, did the warranty maintenance of the hybrid customer trolley which was introduced into the South African (SA) market.
With the maintenance experience, it was apparent that more efficient products could be manufactured and supplied for the SA market. During the early years, the retail and supply chain industries did not have the option to buy dedicated products for their unique environments.
Trolley and Castor Wholesalers (TCW), a production line factory, was established in 1996. TCW supplied retail and supply chain equipment to Woolworths, PnP, Clicks, RCL and many others. The emphasis at the time was to allow the customers to buy dedicated products for their specific environments. The maintenance and manufacturing experience opened a whole new world of opportunity for a new business venture.
Equipment life cycle, life cycle cost, integration of systems, the efficiency of transport, procurement processes, managerial information, “the customer is king” principal, development in the rest of the world and a magnitude of the intellectual property led to the establishment of NI in the year 2000. NI further expanded its horizons from 2012 by entering the manufacturing, maintenance and supply of spare parts market for the cleaning and automated washing systems in SA. NI today, also represent Numafa Cleaning and Automation BV, Holland in SA. NI presently support Shoprite/Checkers, Woolworths, and RCL cleaning systems in SA.
Nucleus Industries functions as a project house/incubator that specialises in research and design; we collaborate with clients and partners in the retail and logistical services environment to define and resolve industry-specific problems and maximise long term profit.

What can we do to deliver on the customers’ expectations?
Capturing of information is done by the person that finds it, using the correct tools, building accountability.
We make use of practices, policies, tools, and procedures to ensure smooth handovers.
We work as a united front to ensure success and guarantee our high standard of quality.
We constantly ask ourselves: “How can I do, what I do, more effectively and efficiently than before.
When doing a task, we strive for excellence to not revisit work, leading to wasted time, money, and effort.
We strive not just to deliver on the customer’s expectation, but to go above and beyond to deliver exceptional value to our clients.
The people who make things happen in our company and who believe and build the future.
